It is time to reconnect with "original" ways of living. As recently as 100 years ago in America, before the industrial and technological revolutions, people lived in villages helping and caring about each other. Young people had MENTORS to learn the family business or apprentice with other adults to develop skills necessary for the survival of their family and the village. Aging elders were valued and revered for their experience and wisdom.
Act locally and discuss the profound realities we face in a society with millions more people. Be concerned about the impact of, and heavy traffic at, websites like Second Life, Facebook, MySpace and other virtual communities which have replaced real, face-to-face connections between people.
Without real connection, and an awareness of what we are missing in our lives, we believe that the problems we face on our planet will not be solved. We owe it to our children to make changes
